      GIZMO        

 This is Gizmo. He is a 2 year old, neutered male Shih Tzu.  Gizmo came to our rescue as an owner relinquish.  Gizmo is very sweet and gets along with other small dogs.  He will do best in a home without any small children and he will need a buddy to play with.  

             MUNNSHEN                      

 This "little man" is Munnshen. He is a 4 year old, neutered, grey and white Shih Tzu.  He came to our rescue as an owner relinquish.  He is very sweet and affectionate and has the cutest little face with one blue and one brown eye.  He gets along very well with other small dogs, but chooses not to play with them much.  He seems to prefer his tail or a ball instead.  He goes to the door when he needs to go out.  Munnshen is very timid when you first meet him, but once he trusts you he is just the greatest little dog.  He would do best is a home that does not have small children.  

NICKY

Nicky is freshly groomed, just arriving in our rescue from a shelter.  We think Nicky is a shih tzu mix.  Nicky is 2 years old and needs to be neutered, and will then be available for adoption.  Nicky has not been treated well in his young life, and is looking for a patient, loving owner who can teach him how wonderful a human friend can be!  Nicky does well on the leash, in the car, and appears to do well around other small dogs.  He does like to cuddle with his foster parent.   He is looking for an owner who will shower him with love and show him how great life can be!

BAXTER

Baxter is a 5 year old, neutered Lasa Apso.  He came to our rescue from a shelter.  Baxter is very affectionate and loves to be with you.  He gets along with other small dogs.  Baxter is getting use to his new surroundings and he is learning to use a doggie door.  Baxter will need a loving home with an experienced owner who can work with him and where he can give and receive a lot of attention. He needs a dental and then he will be available for adoption.

The good news about Freddie:  He has good teeth!  He is a quiet, sweet little dog and does very well at housetraining.  He is approximately 3 years old.  The not-so-good-news:  Freddie came to us from an out of state shelter in a bad way - he arrived with sarcoptic mange, which his devoted foster helped him get over with daily baths and lotions.  He is now cured of that.  He has no functional vision in either eye.  His right eye is worse, he has severe keratocojunctivitis with severe pigmentary keratitis and congestive glaucoma.  His left eye has the same diagnosis, but does not have congestive glaucoma.  He also has low thyroid.  He will need always need to be on thyroid medication (inexpensive).  He is currently getting 4 different ointments 3x/day for his eyes.  Yes, he's a special needs little guy, but if you have the time and energy in your life to give this little guy a loving home, you will not be sorry!  Please contact us for more information on Freddie.

MILO & BOOMER

Milo & Boomer are shih tzu neutered male puppies who are between 6-7 months old.  Aren't they adorable?!  They are brothers and are very bonded and need to be adopted together.  They LOVE tummy rubs!  They also enjoy playing with each other, chasing their toys, and going for walks.  They are happiest in each others company.  They are cute as cute can be, but please keep in mind how much work a puppy can be -- times two!  Milo & Boomer are looking for a home with a loving, patient owner who has the time and energy to look after them.  They will need to go through obedience training.  For more information on this dynamic duo, please contact us today!

TOTO

This little cutie pie is Toto.  Toto came to us from an out of state shelter, and they told us he was a cairn terrier/shih tzu mix - we're not exactly sure what he is, other than cute as a button.  He is 2 years old, and he loves to play fetch.  Like most terriers, he is high energy and will need to be walked regularly.  He does not like crates so crating will not be an option with this little guy.  He is looking for a loving home with an owner who has the patience, time, and energy to devote to him, and give him all the attention his little heart desires.

                                                                        DOODLE

  Doodle is very shy little maltese.  He is approximately 5 years old.  He came to our rescue from a puppy mill.  Doodle needed medical attention and a good grooming.  Doodle is unsure about the people in his world and keeps his distance but is sure to follow you and watch every move you make.  He watches the other dogs too, as if he wants the same attention but just can't bring himself to getting that close, yet.  He has slowly warmed up to his foster mom and will let her pick him up to the couch and lay next to her and will accept a yummy treat. RILEY

Riley is a sweet little shih tzu male who came to our rescue from a shelter.  He is somewhere between 3-5 years old.  He is a darling little boy and loves to spend time in your lap.  He needs to have a dental done and will then be available for adoption.  Riley is brand new to our rescue so please contact us for more information!

MATTIE

Mattie is a 6 year old male neutered Maltese.  He came to our rescue because his elderly owner passed away.  He is underweight, we think it's due to his loss -- but he has started eating well and imagine he will gain weight quickly.  Mattie is a devoted lap dog, and is ready to join his foster mom in the chair any time she sits down.  He follows his foster mom around the house and loves to play with his ball.  He gets along with the other dogs, but is a bit intimidated because they all weigh more than he does, and are more rambunctious.  However, he looks forward to being stronger soon and being able to romp with them.  He uses the doggie door, and knows what "outside" means.  

NEO

Meet Neo!  Neo is a 7 year old male shih tzu who is currently on a diet to regain his studly figure.  Neo thrives on attention.  He likes to romp around the back yard and does well with older children.  Neo is heading to the vet for his wellness check, and then will be ready to be adopted.  For more information on Neo please contact us today.

 OREO 

 Oreo is a three year old Shih Tzu.  He has not always been treated well in his young life, and his current foster is working with him so he learns that people can be trusted.  He is slowly getting over his fear of hands and people.  He is a great dog and can be pretty entertaining!  He has a quirky obsession with moving lights and other shiny objects and will stare at and try to catch any light that is in motion.  He likes most cats.  He follows them everywhere and they like to cuddle together.  He loves car rides.  He enjoys throwing his toys up in the air and trying to catch them.  Oreo is looking for an experienced dog owner who has the time and patience to show him that people can be trusted and can be good buddies!  He is particular about who he likes to spend time with, but if you have the time and love in your heart for this little guy, you will be amply rewarded with his love!

BUCKWHEAT

Latest Update on Buckwheat: Check out this little cutie!  You can hardly even see his wound anymore -- it's amazing what a little care and love can do for a dog!  Buckwheat has been neutered and is ready for his forever home.  He is energetic and loves to "kill the squeaker" in toys.  He has a loving nature and is a loyal little boy.  Fore more information on this charmer, contact us today!

Update on Buckwheat: His scabs are healing nicely and he is so happy to be in a loving home again!  He is a very hungry guy and has already gained 2 lbs since he's been in rescue.  He likes to play with toys.  He sleeps on the bed with his foster parents.  He is generally mellow and well-behaved.  He is a darling little guy and a joy to have around.  His foster parents say that he must have had some training along the way, because he is a polite little guy.  Latest photo of Buckwheat:  

Buckwheat when he arrived to us from the shelter:

Buckwheat is a lhasa apso (?) mix who came into our rescue as a stray.  He was matted so badly he was unable to open his mouth.  He has a scalp wound that appears to be a bite wound of some kind.  Buckwheat is being treated for his medical needs.  If you would be interested in helping us pay his vet bills, please make a donation through Paypal on our site or mail a check made out to CSTMR to the address listed on the contact page.  Once Buckwheat is treated for all his current medical needs, he will be neutered and will then be available for adoption.  He is approximately 2 years old, and has already gained 2 lbs since being in rescue and has a hearty appetite.  He is scared but allows people to handle him and he loves to be held.  For more information on Buckwheat please contact us.
